We are privileged and humbled to make our small mark on peoples lives and our communities

Your home should be distinctly yours. It should be functional, flow, be considerate of site and climate and respond to how you and your family occupy space, relax and live. It’s our role to understand these needs and develop solutions that are not only beautiful but pragmatic and considered.

Whilst every site and every client is different, we approach each project with the same rigor, relentless attention to detail and care.

Here are a few of our latest projects.

Elm Seed House

Elm Seed House is a modern adaptation of a 1920s Californian Bungalow, inner north, Melbourne. Respectful of the home’s heritage, the project sought to retain, reinstate and celebrate period elements, thoroughly modernise the interior whilst creating a warm, inviting and functional rear extension for a growing professional family. Intertwining concepts of public vs private, of entertaining and of modern family life, the project is humble in its size but rich in detail and execution.

The project has been recognised with Australian and International awards.

Location: Inner North, Melbourne
Year: 2023
Site Area (m2): 440
Floor Area (m2): 185 (65 extension)

Laneway House

Laneway House is for an empty nester couple seeking to upgrade the home and leave a legacy for their children. Modernism, minimalism and sculpture were the three driving directives, resolving a home that makes maximum use of the humble site, yet sits surrounded by dense landscaping inside and out.

Use of integrated seating makes maximum use of the limited interior footprint yet provides opportunity for considered spatial resolution.

Location: Inner North, Melbourne
Year: 2024 - ongoing
Site Area (m2): 250
Floor Area (m2): 170
Status: Schematic Design

Bluestone House

One of the oldest bluestone cottages in the inner north, a home of history and warmth yet one with multiple haphazard additions and in need of a rethink.

The current design direction seeks to embrace and express the hand-hewn bluestone walls, create moments of respite for study and reflection via provision of a new rear built form, thoroughly modern yet in harmony with the history of the home. Use of courtyards address the sites northerly orientation, flooding the new living spaces with light.
